P McVey Building Systems delivered modular school buildings at St. Mogue’s College, supplying and installing 38 prefabricated units to meet the school’s growing needs. The team completed the installation in only two days, demonstrating the speed, precision, and efficiency of modular construction in a live school environment. Consequently, the school continued normal operations with minimal disruption.
The facility includes 12 modular classrooms, a science laboratory, a music room, and a construction studies suite, providing energy-efficient and modern learning spaces. In addition, external works created a new staff car park, soft play area, and full-sized basketball court, enhancing both recreational and operational facilities. The team maintained strict safety protocols, ensuring students and staff remained safe throughout the project.
Offsite Solution
The project used full offsite modular construction. All 38 units were manufactured in a controlled factory environment, allowing quality control and precise production. Meanwhile, site preparation ran alongside offsite fabrication, reducing overall construction time. Installing the modular classrooms on site in just two days minimised disruption and ensured the building was fully operational ahead of schedule.
Mechanical and electrical systems were installed to NZEB (Near Zero Energy Building) standards. As a result, the facility offers lower operational costs, optimal energy efficiency, and reduced carbon emissions. This project highlights how modular school buildings deliver high-quality, sustainable education facilities quickly, even in active school environments.
