Sport Ireland

Project Information

P McVey Building Systems delivered modular office buildings to support Sport Ireland’s Blanchardstown headquarters. The project featured three standalone, single-storey units covering 8,500 sq ft. Together, the 36 steel-frame modules provided a mix of open-plan offices, private workspaces, meeting rooms, a canteen, welfare areas, restrooms, and accessible facilities. By collaborating closely with Conneely Builders and the client, the team completed the project on time and within budget. Consequently, Sport Ireland experienced minimal disruption to its daily operations. This project shows that modular office buildings provide fast, flexible, and sustainable workspaces. Combining offsite manufacturing with precise on-site assembly allows companies to gain professional, fully operational offices efficiently.

Offsite Solution

The team manufactured all modules offsite using vertical larch cladding, insulated roof panels, and anthracite windows and doors. In addition, they pre-installed and tested all heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems in the factory. This preparation ensured the units were fully operational upon delivery. Furthermore, energy-efficient features, such as 22 kW photovoltaic panels and LED lighting with PIR sensors, reduced operational energy use. The installation proceeded in three phases. The first phase delivered the open-plan canteen with restrooms. Phase two added three office spaces with both open-plan and private offices plus a meeting room. The final phase installed two further office units with similar layouts. By phasing the work, the team ensured rapid assembly while minimising site disruption. Moreover, offsite modular construction enhanced quality control and helped meet tight deadlines.
