Project Information
At the Royal Victoria Hospital, Graham Construction relied on modular site facilities to support the building of the new Children’s Hospital. By using modular solutions, the project team ensured that site offices and welfare areas were ready on time and fully functional. This approach also allowed the facility to align with the main hospital construction schedule, minimising delays and disruption. Overall, modular site facilities offer flexibility, speed, and reliability for construction projects. They help maintain programme schedules while providing safe, fully equipped environments for staff and visitors.
Offsite Solution
To maximise efficiency, the project used an offsite modular construction method. Modules were pre-assembled in a controlled factory environment. Consequently, installation on-site was faster, safer, and more precise. Moreover, this method ensured high-quality standards and reduced the impact on the busy hospital campus. The modular facility also provided fire-rated, fully functional office and welfare spaces, supporting day-to-day site operations. Working within a highly active hospital site required detailed planning. The team carefully managed logistics, restricted access, and strict health and safety requirements. Additionally, M&E design and coordination, handled by Mor Electrical, ensured that all facilities were energy-efficient, functional, and compliant with safety standards.
