Waterford University Hospital required a modular solution to provide accommodation for 2no outpatient clinics within their Dunmore Road Site in Waterford City.
Working alongside the HSE Ireland, we were able to provide a rapid expansion to complement the existing Outpatient clinics in the main building.
P McVey Building Systems was appointed as the main contractor for the project, working alongside the HSE, to provide a modular solution to the Outpatients department.
Our offsite construction ensured a quick turnaround. The new building was successfully handed over ahead of schedule and within budget.
Facility
The modular building is incorporated to the existing setup within the hospital grounds.
It delivers a new reception area, waiting room, two assessment rooms, 2 treatment rooms, 16no consulting rooms and 4 utility rooms. Providing additional areas for both staff and patients.
Project Overview
The project was comprised of 32 steel frame modules which were manufactured offsite ahead of schedule with internal mechanical and electrical installed onsite.
The constrained location of the new building made this a challenging project, with the team working in a live environment around incoming patients and staff onsite, as well as visitors. Our team successfully avoided any disruption during a busy period and kept noise to a minimum during install.
Timescale
The bespoke 1000m2 modular building was designed in-house, manufactured, and installed by the P McVey Team to a tight deadline. The team was onsite at later hours of the day to try and keep disruption at a minimum with installation taking 2 working days.
