CITB Training

CITB Training

P McVey Building Systems is enhancing safety and skills across our workforce

The safety, wellbeing, and professional development of our people sit at the centre of everything we do. Because of this commitment, we recently welcomed the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to deliver accredited training directly to our teams.

Health and safety is more than a requirement; it forms a core part of our culture. As a result, we invest in training that keeps our teams skilled, confident, and fully compliant with industry regulations. CITB‑accredited courses support this commitment by strengthening our workplace safety standards, both now and for the future.

Manual Handling Training

Manual handling Training for All Office and Factory Staff

Manual handling poses risks across every area of our organisation not only on the factory floor but also in our office environments. To address these risks, our workforce completed CITB‑aligned Manual Handling Training, which helped everyone understand:

  • How to identify manual handling hazards
  • Safe lifting and movement techniques
  • Ways to reduce strain and prevent workplace injuries
  • Legal responsibilities under UK safety regulations

By training all departments, we create a consistent, proactive, and informed approach to workplace safety.

Working at height training

Working at Height Training for Factory Teams

In addition, our factory teams completed working at height training onsite. Since working at height remains one of the highest‑risk activities in construction, the course focused on practical safety measures. During the training, our teams learned:

  • Safe practices for elevated work
  • How to use fall‑arrest and restraint systems correctly
  • How to select and inspect equipment
  • Their legal duties and safety responsibilities

This training ensures our teams work safely, confidently, and responsibly in elevated environments.
