Role Description

A highly experienced Senior Estimator with a strong background in building systems and construction, specialising in the preparation and management of accurate, competitive tenders across industrial, commercial, and bespoke building projects. Brings a strategic, detail-driven approach to cost planning, risk assessment, and value engineering, supporting our reputation for quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Price Design & Build tenders from first principles using measurement and unit rates.

Obtain, review, and incorporate subcontractor quotations in the most commercially suitable way.

Understand tender requirements under various contracts (JCT, NEC) and provide commercial risk assessments.

Present tender submissions to senior management with advice on risks and opportunities.

Ensure tenders are submitted on time, to high quality, and within profitability targets.

Liaise with all supporting departments to ensure timely tender information.

Monitor contract overspends and provide commercial support.

Attend internal and external meetings to support project delivery within budget and programme.

Arrange project launch meetings and evaluate subcontractors for competency and health & safety compliance.

Mentor and support junior estimators.

Undertake additional tasks to support the estimating function.

Requirements / Skills

Strong technical knowledge and extensive experience in the construction industry.

Proven experience with Design & Build projects.

Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.

Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Committed, enthusiastic, and confident in decision-making.
