Project Information
P McVey Building Systems delivered temporary modular commercial buildings for Belfast Harbour. The project involved installing 10 advanced CTX modular units, creating newly designed male and female washrooms to meet the facility’s operational needs. Each unit featured modern sanitary fixtures, including touchless faucets, water-saving toilets, and energy-efficient hand dryers. As a result, the design ensured both hygiene and sustainability. During the design phase, the team focused on delivering temporary modular commercial buildings with a modern, high-quality aesthetic. They combined natural and artificial lighting to enhance the interior atmosphere. Additionally, the mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems incorporated energy-efficient technologies, such as a heat pump and hot water tank, to reduce environmental impact. The fire strategy and acoustic design were carefully planned to ensure compliance with building regulations and provide a safe, comfortable environment for users.
Offsite Solution
The CTX units were manufactured in a controlled factory, allowing the team to maintain strict quality control and reduce the risk of delays. Once the units were complete, they were transported and installed. Each module came pre-fitted with plumbing and electrical connections, which minimised on-site disruption and enabled quick integration into the existing infrastructure.
In addition, this offsite modular construction method lowered the environmental impact compared with traditional builds by minimising waste and improving assembly efficiency. The installation team worked carefully to ensure that all service connections, including water, electricity, and drainage, were accurate. By combining offsite manufacturing with precise on-site installation, P McVey Building Systems delivered a high-quality, sustainable, and efficient sanitary facility for Belfast Harbour.
